SHEER SPLENDOR Designers are acknowledging the heat of summer with a whole lot of sheer! See-through dresses came strutting down the catwalk paired with nothing but the sexiest (and for some the sparkly-est) bodysuits beneath.Louis Claparols had a cool neon swimsuit beneath his lemon, ‘50s-style frock while Lyle Ibanez kept it nude under a printed shirt dress.underneath, Anthony Ramirezembellished his pieces, drawing attention to the gowns before the innerwear. The look shows just the right amount of skin while covering everything that needs to be covered. We say it’s a great way to live it up on balmy nights at the beach. COLOR BY COLOR There's no stopping color blocking; this trend has stayed strong since summer 2011, reappearing in the collections for 2012. The combinations are no longer just in acid brights. We spot pastel pairings at Gerry Katigbakthat look clean and fresh, while Kashiecaplayed with classic silhouettes and deeper shades. It’s an ultra fun trend and we’re glad for the chance to keep at it! See Color Blocking on the Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 runways >> | |
HIGH SHINE The no-fail trend when it comes to looking all glammed up for any occasion, high shine definitely puts the spotlight on you! From luxurious golds like those at Martin Bautistaand Jerome Salaya Ang to solid black likeNorman Noriega—we’re all for turning up that glow! THE MULLET A cross between the mini and the maxi, this hybrid shows just the right amount of leg and gives way to that fresh summer breeze!Bench’s young school girl grows up as her pleated skirt is given a train while designers like Pablo Cabahug, Bo Parcon, Roland Alzate and Russell Villafuerte showed variations of the looks dressier side. SOPHISTICATED SWIMMIES Swimsuits have come a long way from just being what you wear to go in the water, especially for the ladies who prefer to sizzle in the shade. Now they work just as well as an outfit to, say, lounge by not in the pool or perhaps late night parties by the beach. Chris Diaz, Gerry Katigbak, Ricky Abad, Louis Claparols and Noel Crisostomo designed pieces that are sure to make you feel so sexy! Get ready to rock these babies through summer! EARNED STRIPES Stripes somehow call to mind ideas of sailing and being by the sea. With visions of being beach bound for the summer months, striped maxi dresses and even skirts seem to make the perfect wardrobe. Kashieca, Arnold Galang, Penshoppe and Kashieca all used solid blacks with pops of bright color whileGerry Katigbak’s pieces came in cool shades of blue!
